Stimulus-funded rebates on their way

Most participants in the stimulus-funded Trade Up for Cool Cash refrigerator rebate program should expect to receive their rebates this month. The program was federally funded with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) money and it is expected to take approximately 12 weeks to process and verify applications, once received.
The Trade Up for Cool Cash program offered consumers a $250 rebate for replacing their inefficient refrigerators with ENERGY STAR® qualified models. Nearly 4,000 ENERGY STAR® refrigerators were sold on the first day of the program, which ran from May 24 to June 23. The program was so popular that funds from a second ARRA stimulus program had to be added to support the Trade Up for Cool Cash program to ensure that no one would be disappointed during the program’s full 30-day run.
